About ÀTÚNDA

Recreating possibility, one piece at a time.

ÀTÚNDA is a Nigerian circular design studio that transforms discarded textiles into functional works of art for homes, spaces, and communities.

Every day, thousands of kilograms of textile waste are discarded across Nigeria. Once valued for their colour, texture, craftsmanship, and history, these materials are often swept into drains, dumped by roadsides, or left to slowly disappear as waste.

We believe they deserve a different ending.

The Beginning

A walk through Yaba Textile Market

ÀTÚNDA was born from a walk through Yaba Textile Market in Lagos, where mountains of discarded fabric revealed not just an environmental problem, but an overlooked opportunity. Where many saw waste, we saw colour. We saw texture. We saw stories waiting to be retold.

Nothing truly loses its value.
Sometimes, it simply needs to be recreated.

That moment became the foundation of our philosophy. Every piece we create begins with materials that others have overlooked. Through thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and experimentation, we transform those remnants into functional works of art that enrich homes, inspire conversation, and challenge the way we think about waste.

Beyond Design

Our mission extends further

We believe creativity can solve real-world problems. As ÀTÚNDA grows, we are committed to exploring how reclaimed textiles can become comfort solutions for vulnerable communities, innovative materials for sustainable interiors, and new opportunities for artisans and makers.

Our Definition

What sustainability means to us

For us, sustainability is not simply about recycling. It is about changing perspective. It is about proving that beauty can emerge from what has been forgotten. It is about recreating value where others no longer see it.

Every artwork we create carries traces of another life, woven into a new story, a new purpose, and a new future.

This is ÀTÚNDA.

Recreating possibility, one piece at a time.
